US actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
