Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
