The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.

Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Viewers can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
