Trump Calls Loved Ones of Shot National Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told the press. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the head of her former high school, told the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the administration to pause asylum processing and halt granting entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told a news show that she aimed to visit the family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor addressed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
